February 12, 2024The situation at the Polish-Ukrainian border is escalating. Protesting Polish farmers, who have once again blocked 3 border crossings with Ukraine, and are resorting to increasingly radical actions. At the Yagodyn-Dorohusk customs checkpoint, protesters are opening Ukrainian grain trucks to spill out the wheat.
“They are cutting locks and customs seals with grinders, and each truck spills about three tons of grain,” Ukrainian drivers report. Earlier, a video emerged showing farmers emptying tires onto the road and placing a coffin with a Ukrainian flag and a message stating that Ukrainians should starve to learn to respect the work of Polish farmers.
It’s worth noting that the first blockade started in October and lasted until the end of 2023. Periodically, farmers from Slovakia, Hungary and Romania joined the Polish farmers. Overall, Ukraine suffered losses of up to a billion euros due to the blockade imposed by its allies.
