Putin’s special envoy Dmitriev flies to New York for talks with Witkoff and Kushner

Russian President’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev has flown to the United States for talks with representatives of the American president, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

This is reported by Reuters, citing sources.

The meeting will take place in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session. According to the agency’s sources, it “will be a continuation of the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US representatives that took place at the Kremlin earlier this month.”

One of Reuters’ sources specified that the purpose of Dmitriev’s visit is to maintain the Russian-American dialogue and efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement.

The agenda of the talks will reportedly include issues of economic cooperation between Russia and the United States, energy matters, and ways to end the war in Ukraine.

Ukraine, the European Union, and UN member states have called on Russia for a full ceasefire and the start of negotiations.
