Rubio: reaching a peace agreement on Ukraine “will require an enormous amount of work”

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that resolving the conflict in Ukraine will require significant effort and cannot be achieved quickly.

He made the statement in response to journalists’ questions at the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Manila.

“We want a peace agreement. We are prepared to play whatever constructive role we can to bring the conflict to an end. And to do that, we’re going to need something that both Russia and Ukraine can agree to. That’s not going to happen at one press conference. That’s going to require an enormous amount of work,” Rubio said.
