November 5, 2024Russia will respond appropriately to possible NATO aggression using any means.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov issued a warning, stating that Russia would respond appropriately to any potential NATO aggression, using any necessary means.
“In the event of aggressive actions by NATO or individual member states against our country, appropriate countermeasures will be taken in full compliance with Russia’s sovereign right to self-defense, as enshrined in the UN Charter, and with the use of any means to ensure its security,” said Lavrov.
Lavrov emphasized that, in the event of aggression against Russia, NATO countries “won’t be able to stay safely behind the Atlantic Ocean or the English Channel.” According to him, Moscow is aware that the alliance “has long made no secret of its aggressive policy towards Russia,” considers Russia a security threat, and conducts offensive operations as part of its exercises.
Previously, Lavrov also stated that Russia is open to resuming dialogue with the United States if Washington considers Russia’s national interests.
