21.05.2026 10:04Russia’s Aerospace Forces have begun practicing the loading of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles with special warheads.
This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“Personnel of the aviation units involved in the exercise are practicing the loading of special warheads onto Kinzhal aeroballistic hypersonic missiles,” the ministry’s statement reads.
In addition to loading the missiles, Russia’s Aerospace Forces are also practicing flights to designated patrol areas as part of the same exercises.
Nuclear submarines carrying ballistic missiles have also been assigned tasks within the framework of the exercises: they have put to sea in naval testing range areas to carry out combat duty.
On May 14, Russian forces launched a massive strike on Ukraine — targeting defense industry enterprises, military airfields, and other facilities. The precision long-range strike was carried out using, among other weapons, Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and attack drones, according to the Ministry of Defense’s report.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the Kinzhal air-launched medium-range hypersonic missile continues to be improved.
In addition, Russian fighter jets conducted an inspection of airspace over the Sea of Japan.
