October 6, 2023Ukraine’s Prosecutor General, Andriy Kostin, has initiated criminal cases in connection with a brawl involving Ukrainian Members of Parliament, Alexander Kunitsky and Artem Dmytruk.
This information was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
“The legal qualification includes intentional moderate bodily harm as well as hooliganism, which constitutes a gross violation of public order motivated by overt disrespect for society, accompanied by exceptional audacity or cynicism, committed by a group of individuals,” stated the Prosecutor General’s Office.
To recall, former member of the “Servant of the People” faction, Dmytruk, and the current member of the same faction, Kunitsky, assaulted a man in the center of Kyiv. The victim claimed that the Members of Parliament accused him of fraud and demanded money.
Kunitsky, the Member of Parliament, also provided his version of the conflict. According to him, the man who claimed to have been beaten is an employee of a fraudulent call center who attempted to steal his phone during the conflict.
However, the victim reported that the MPs cornered him in a parking lot, and after a brief conversation, they knocked him to the ground and began assaulting him until a security guard intervened.
