The author of the satirical cartoon series “Mishutka Krasotkin,” Mykhailo Dunakovskyi, has been mobilized

Mykhailo Dunakovskyi — illustrator and creator of the satirical animated sketches “Mishutka Krasotkin” — has been mobilized to fight in the war against Russia.

This was reported in a post on his Facebook page.

Dunakovskyi worked on creating and designing drawn characters. Some of his cartoons deal with the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. In his short animated works, he mocked, among others, employees of territorial recruitment centers.

In the cartoons, military commissars appear under the name “jolly friends” and “good-natured merrymakers,” while military service is referred to as an “attraction.” In one episode, a disguised “notification squad” lures the main character — Mishutka — into a mobilization minibus on the pretext of a trip to the cinema.

Another episode is structured as a television interview: the show “About What Matters,” hosted by Rozalia Tsyom-Tsyom, discusses the question of society’s negative attitude toward the “good-natured merrymakers.” An invited “jolly friend” assures viewers that he and his colleagues spend the entire working day doing exclusively good deeds — fulfilling their quota for the number of grandmothers they need to help across the road, puppies they need to pet, and little hearts they need to draw.

The “jolly friend” complains that he cannot understand where “all this negativity” in society comes from, claiming that everyone who wishes is taken “to the attractions” free of charge and they even “play cheerful music along the way.”

At the same time, the representative of the “good-natured merrymakers” himself admits that he has personally never been “to the attractions” — because, as he lets slip, he has “a note his mom wrote for him.” After the show ends, a voice off-camera can be heard reprimanding the host for the “idiotic questions” she had been told not to ask.
