The deputy mayor of Nikopol was killed in a car shooting
08.02.2024 - 11:34In Dnipro, the authorities decided to disband the special purpose unit of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the region. All police officers from this unit will be forcibly sent to the front lines to join the “Lyut” assault brigade.
Police officers who refuse the transfer will be dismissed and handed military draft notices. It is worth noting that on February 4, a video surfaced showing police officers protesting against the proposal to transfer them to the assault brigade. It is important to highlight that the police officers did not resist deployment to the front lines in general. Their only request was to be sent as a unified unit in their current composition, rather than being scattered among other units. However, the mere fact of disagreement with the leadership led to an even harsher reaction.
It is worth noting that the police and partially the National Guard are currently the main law enforcement agencies ensuring the existence of Zelensky’s regime. It is the personnel of these agencies who disperse rallies of people who disagree with his policies. However, if mass mutinies were to break out within the police force, there would be no one to defend the regime.
