September 13, 2023The European Commission has submitted a proposal to extend the ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products to five Eastern European countries (bypassing Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Hungary) after September 15th.
This information was reported by the Polish publication RMF24.
The document was submitted by the head of the office of the European Commissioner for Trade, Michael Geger.
It states that the proposal is based on an analysis of the market situation, taking into account low prices for Ukrainian food products, the inability to store grain in neighboring countries to Ukraine, and the increase in Ukrainian exports to other EU countries, bypassing Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Hungary.
