This information reported according to the head of the Tax Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Danylo Hetmantsev, who made the statement in a podcast on YouTube.

He explained that tips are considered income, and all income that is not exempt must be taxed.

Earlier, Hetmantsev also mentioned that the only way to address Ukraine’s budget deficit is by increasing the military tax and VAT.

It’s important to note that yesterday, the Verkhovna Rada passed a tax increase bill in its final form, but with significant cuts, removing half of the original text. This means there will be no retroactive tax increases as of October 1.

Previously, the Rada’s Main Legal Department assessed the tax increase bill as unconstitutional.

The American newspaper “The New York Times” commented on the tax law passed in Ukraine, suggesting that President Volodymyr Zelensky may face public discontent due to the tax hikes.
