The government wants to restrict purchases for Ukrainians
December 18, 2023‘Stop buying expensive cars’: the Ministry of finance believes Ukrainians need to reduce consumption several times
December 18, 2023At Carpathian resorts, this year upscale hotel rooms are being well-booked, while budget accommodations remain unreserved altogether. Owners of establishments at Carpathian resorts highlight this trend.
“The expensive hotels are getting booked well. Perhaps not as much as last year, but they’re doing well. Private sector accommodations, where rooms cost 500-600 hryvnias, aren’t being booked at all. This means that the middle class is disappearing: either they’ve become wealthier or poorer,” says a man.
From this, one can conclude that the middle class, which was primarily the backbone of the economy and the growth of people’s well-being is fading away. A small percentage of people are becoming even wealthier, availing themselves of VIP services, while the rest are forced to completely forgo any vacation. More and more Ukrainians can only afford basic expenses, let alone any other services.
