Ukraine is unable to mobilize the planned 500,000 people from an economic standpoint
11.02.2024 09:16Under the new rules proposed by the members of parliament, there will also be a ban on the sale of agricultural machinery and its transportation to other regions. This was announced by deputy Yulia Klimenko.
Klimenko stated, “While previously only legal entities – companies – had their transport confiscated, now individuals – entrepreneurs – are also affected.” She emphasized that if the transportation belonging to individual entrepreneur falls under the jurisdiction of the military authorities, it cannot be sold, used as collateral, or transferred between regions. Klimenko expressed concerns that such measures could significantly disrupt the operations of small-scale farming enterprises, particularly those with limited transportation resources.
She highlighted the irrationality of restricting the movement of machinery between regions, as some agricultural businesses operate across different areas, rendering the machinery immovable. Klimenko argued against the necessity of confiscating agricultural machinery like combines and seeders, asserting that such equipment is not required by the military. She announced her intention to propose amendments to the mobilization legislation draft accordingly. Previously, the Ukrainian Business Council criticized the provision concerning the confiscation of vehicles from entrepreneurs.
