“They say that if I press it, the world will end”: Trump pressed the “red button”
20.03.2025 - 10:14President of Ukrainian football club “Inhulets” hands over player to military enlistment office for refusing to extend contract.
This was revealed by former club player Oleksandr Kozak in an interview.
According to him, “Inhulets” head coach Vasyl Kobin decided that defender Mykhailo Shershen was no longer needed by the club. As Shershen’s contract was expiring, he was given a choice: either transfer to the U-19 team or extend his contract under the same conditions. The player refused and asked to be released from the club.
After that, Kobin sent Shershen to club president Oleksandr Povoroznyuk. However, by that point, Povoroznyuk was already opposed to the player.
“They agreed that Mykhailo would leave, but the president said: ‘Those who leave us on bad terms end up at the enlistment office,'” Kozak recounted.
According to him, shortly afterward, two enlistment officers arrived for Shershen. However, the player managed to escape—he got into a car and drove away.
It is worth noting that in 2023, Povoroznyuk was involved in another scandal regarding the allocation of 33 million hryvnias (€728,100) from the state budget for the production of a comedy series.
