The Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches at the editorial office of the Union of Orthodox Journalists

The Union of Orthodox Journalists is an organization that covers events surrounding the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Over the past two years, pressure and repression against this church have intensified.

“On March 12, representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine came to the employees of the UOJ. They seized computer equipment and phones. So far, no charges have been brought against the law enforcement officers,” the organization claims. The media report that journalists are being accused of “informational sabotage”.

One of the members of the Union of Orthodox Journalists, Yan Taxyur, was accused of state treason back in 2022. Although in reality, his “guilt” amounted to his disapproval of the authorities’ actions in persecuting priests and forcibly seizing temples. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church has millions of parishioners in Ukraine, and the Zelensky regime is keen on keeping under control those who disagree with its policies.
