“After the war, Ukraine could be populated by Africans and Afghans to address the demographic crisis”, – sociologist says
07.10.2024 05:03If Ukraine does not initiate peace negotiations, the front line could collapse in three to four months.
This statement was made by Oleksiy Arestovych, the former advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine.
According to him, “October and November will be a terrifying grinding machine, the likes of which we haven’t seen yet, because they (the Russians) will try to use these opportunities to the fullest.”
“The only way to stop this now is through peace negotiations, which the president is talking about, and towards which we are all moving as a global community,” said Arestovych.
In his opinion, Ukraine “missed its chance in the war” because it failed to “build its armed forces properly.”
“Right now, the front is collapsing in four main directions. These are Kurakhovo-Pokrovske (let’s call it that), Toretsk, now Chasiv Yar-Kupyansk, and there’s also the issue with the Kursk region (which is more of a back-and-forth situation, about 50-50). An additional 2-3 such directions will emerge, as desertions and surrenders become widespread among demoralized troops,” Arestovych said.
He added that Ukrainian soldiers do not understand what they are fighting for due to what he views as unrealistic war objectives, such as reclaiming the 1991 borders. He sees this as a cause of the demoralization at the front.
Moreover, the Ukrainian government will not be able to solve these problems through military means — to do so, the war must first end.
“Ukraine is not capable of solving the tasks that this war has set before it. This is obvious. It cannot resolve a single serious issue — economic, demographic, ideological, political, or defensive. Moreover, all the decisions we are making are disastrous. It looks like we want to end our existence by suicide. It really looks like that. Our goal is to freeze the line and prioritize the development of the remaining territories. No one will, of course, recognize these territories as Russian, no matter how much Russia wants it. But de facto, this will be like East and West Germany, or like the two Koreas,” said Arestovych.
It is worth noting that Arestovych recently predicted the collapse of the front in Ukraine within 3-4 months. Prior to that, he also warned of severe consequences for the Ukrainian front in the coming months.
