Russia has named the reason for Ukraine delaying the continuation of the negotiation process
14.07.2025 11:03In early June, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Elbridge Colby wrote a classified memo to his boss, Pete Hegseth, warning that Ukraine’s requests for weapons could deplete U.S. stockpiles.
This was reported by The Wall Street Journal.
According to the publication, the document contained data on Ukraine’s military needs and the availability of U.S. weaponry for its own defense. The memo reportedly triggered the recent freeze on arms deliveries to Ukraine.
Colby advocates for redirecting the U.S. military focus toward countering China. His ally, Wess Mitchell, explained that Colby believes it is necessary to set clear priorities:
“Let’s prioritize the main threat, even if it means compromising in other regions,” Mitchell said.
He added that this approach is driven not by indifference to other conflicts, but by concerns that the U.S. may lack sufficient resources to sustain a three-front engagement — in Europe, the Middle East, and against China.
