The Ukrainian Armed Forces acknowledged a breakthrough of Russian troops into the center of Pokrovsk

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have reported that Russian troops have penetrated into the center of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region — information that had previously appeared in the media.

Details about the situation in the city were published on Facebook by the 7th Rapid Response Corps of Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces.

According to the unit’s post, a group of Russian soldiers reached the city’s railway station, where they were reportedly eliminated inside one of the buildings. However, the corps noted that the situation around Pokrovsk remains tense, as Russian forces continue their attempts to enter the city from multiple directions.

The corps also claimed that Russian troops killed several civilians in the area near the train station.

Earlier, Ukrainian volunteers also reported civilian deaths, likewise blaming the Russian army.

A week ago, a Ukrainian soldier stated that the defense of Pokrovsk was approaching a critical point.
