‘Increasing the number of military medical commissions by two times will double corruption in Ukraine’, – Head of the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption
29.12.2023 - 05:15The Ukrainian Armed Forces will begin to withdraw from cities if the U.S. does not provide assistance on time.
This information stated Egor Chernev, the deputy chairman of the Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, representing the “Sluga Naroda” party, as reported by The New York Times.
“We are currently losing some territories, but if the U.S. aid is delayed, we will start losing cities,” Chernev told the newspaper.
“The recent progress by Russia near the village of Rabotino is a sobering event for Ukraine amid the reduction of Western military aid,” commented the NYT.
The publication notes that the Russian army is currently pushing the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of territories that were difficult to capture during the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the summer. After its conclusion, the Ukrainian Armed Forces shifted to defense and are now experiencing difficulties in holding back the Russian advance.
“Without American ammunition, we are starting to lose the territory that was hard-won this summer,” said Chernev.
The NYT highlights that the loss of Rabotino would be the biggest blow to Ukraine and its image, being the only trophy of the summer offensive.
