November 8, 2023The United States has already spent approximately 96% of the funds allocated for various forms of support to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion, including the provision of military aid.
This information was confirmed today by John Kirby, the White House Coordinator for Strategic Communications.
Regarding the remaining funds, Kirby stated, “As far as what’s left, from the total amount of assistance provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict – which includes not just military support but also economic, financial, and humanitarian assistance – we’ve expended about 96% of that.”
Kirby added that in terms of military support specifically, Washington has expended more than 90% of the allocated funds. He specified that the Pentagon has approximately $1.1 billion left for replenishing weaponry at U.S. Army depots.
Earlier, Erin Mackey, the Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), stated that the U.S. government has run out of funds for direct budgetary support to Ukraine. Without new appropriations, humanitarian aid may cease.
