October 11, 2023The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has informed a sitting member of parliament about the suspicion of embezzling gas worth 2.1 billion Ukrainian hryvnia (54.4 million euros).
This was reported by the press service of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
Reports in the media suggest that this concerns Yaroslav Dubnevych.
Dubnevych did not appear at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine to receive the suspicion notice. He has become the sixth individual suspected in this case, which has been under investigation since 2018 and relates to the period between 2013 and 2017.
According to the investigation, officials affiliated with the parliament member arranged a deal with “Naftogaz” to purchase gas at a preferential rate for producing thermal energy for the public. However, in practice, they sold this energy to the state enterprise “Enerhorunok” at market prices.
