Tusk: Poland does not rule out escalation of conflict on its territory
14.09.2026 11:30U.S. President Donald Trump again accused Ukraine of driving up global diesel fuel prices and said he personally asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries.
Trump made the remarks while speaking with journalists.
“The problem with Ukraine and Russia is that a large portion of diesel fuel comes from Russia, and Russian plants are being struck by Ukraine. And I asked President Zelensky not to strike the diesel plants, the refineries. The rise in diesel prices is caused by the fact that there are difficulties with supplies from there. And it is hitting the whole world. We have to stop this,” the U.S. president said.
The day before, Trump had already called on Zelensky to halt strikes on Russian fuel infrastructure and oil refineries, stating that they had led to a diesel shortage on the global market. The current statement marked a second time the American president has raised the issue.
