15.10.2024 11:34During a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump stated that Vladimir Putin had spoken to him about an invasion of Ukraine.
This was reported by “The Telegraph”.
“It was the apple of his eye, he talked about it, but I said, ‘You’re not going in,'” Trump claimed. However, he did not specify when this conversation with the Russian president took place. Trump served as president from 2017 to 2021.
The Republican candidate also argued that Putin invaded Ukraine “only because of Biden,” stating, “He looked at this guy, and he couldn’t believe it.” Trump reiterated that he “got along great with Putin” and announced plans to end the war if elected president.
“Biden has done nothing about this—he hasn’t even spoken to Putin for over a year. This is a war that needs to end, and I am going to end it… I am going to try to end this war as the elected president. I want people to stop dying, that’s all,” Trump said.
It’s also worth noting that recent research by the Harvard Center for American Political Studies shows that Trump is leading Kamala Harris in key swing states, which are expected to determine the outcome of the election. According to the data, Trump holds a slight edge among early voters in these states, with 48% supporting him compared to Harris’s 47%, while 5% remain undecided.
Among all voters in key states, Trump has gained 2 points, now leading with 48% versus Harris’s 46%. Nationally, Harris currently leads Trump by 8% among early voters, with 51% to 43%.
An estimated 45% of Americans plan to vote early, while 50% intend to vote on Election Day.
