December 7, 2023As of the evening of December 7th, the electricity deficit in Ukraine persists, requiring imports from neighboring countries to cover the shortfall.
This information reported by the press service of Ukrenergo.
Today, due to the cold weather, there has been a significant increase in energy consumption, while the capacity of power plants to increase electricity production is limited. Overcast weather is affecting the performance of solar power stations, and repairs are ongoing on some thermal units.
“Due to consumption exceeding production, an electricity deficit has emerged in the power system. To address this deficit and maintain the balance between consumption and production, which is crucial for the safe operation of the energy system, the Dispatch Center of Ukrenergo has applied emergency assistance from Romania, Poland, and Slovakia from 11:00 to 19:00,” the statement reads.
