September 16, 2023Former advisor to Reagan calls for bringing Ukrainians back from abroad and sending them to the front lines
September 16, 2023Ukraine did not expect Poland’s rhetoric on the grain issue to be so harsh.
This was stated by Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister for Eurointegration, Olga Stefanishina, during an interview on the “Rada” TV channel.
“Manipulations and blackmail related to the export of Ukrainian grain are very sensitive for us because we practically have no other means of ensuring peace in grain except through the borders of the EU. Therefore, of course, this is very unexpected for us: such harsh rhetoric from the Polish side,” said Stefanishina.
She acknowledged that Poland and Ukraine have always competed in the grain market, but in the conditions of ongoing conflict, Kiev expected a different behavior from Warsaw.
Stefanishina also expressed hope that Brussels and some “individual capitals” would support Kiev’s position.
Hungary’s Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, accused Ukraine of “fraud” in the export of Ukrainian grain.
