According to the agency, the tests revealed problems with controlling the interceptors and their limited effectiveness. Reuters notes that the episode demonstrated the scale of the challenges Ukraine faces amid a shortage of Western air defense systems and the development of Russian weapons.
“The Russians have established mass production and use of jet drones, and we don’t even know what to do about them,” — deputy commander of the third corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Maksym Zhorin.
Earlier, a presidential adviser reported that Russia intends to strike Ukraine with new drones capable of speeds of up to 750 km/h. According to the Sunday Times, Russia has expanded its use of jet-powered drones for strikes on Ukraine by more than sevenfold.
