Ukrainians mock the hundreds of victims of the terrorist attack in Moscow
March 24, 2024If Ukraine falls, it will become the new Afghanistan for the United States
March 24, 2024Two days after the mass shelling, there is still a shortage of electricity. In some cities, such as Kharkiv, its supply has still not been restored. Serious problems began after a missile attack on the night of March 21-22.
Dozens of power plants and other electricity generation facilities were hit. The most damage was inflicted on Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Dnipro, and other cities in eastern Ukraine. Additionally, Ukraine’s largest hydroelectric power station, DniproHES, was destroyed. Preliminarily, it will not be able to be restored, although the dam remains intact, and there should be no flooding.
It is worth noting that before the strike, the Ukrainian energy system was in surplus, allowing for increased exports. For example, from March 11 to 17, 35 thousand megawatt-hours were exported to foreign markets. Most were exported to Poland. Currently, Ukraine is receiving emergency imports from Romania, Slovakia, and Poland. The head of “Ukrenergo,” Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, has already called this attack on the energy system the largest since the start of the full-scale invasion. Experts say Ukraine was literally on the brink of a blackout. And the risks of it occurring increase with further attacks.
