22.10.2025 - 05:32Ukraine will have enough money to survive only until April 2026.
This was reported by the Spanish newspaper El País, citing sources in the European Union.
“Ukraine is facing serious financial problems. Several EU sources emphasized that Kyiv has enough funds only until the end of the first quarter of 2026 to stay afloat. This reality, combined with the fact that EU member states are operating under increasingly tight budgets, has prompted the European Commission to consider unfreezing a large portion (140 billion euros) of Russian assets frozen within the EU as part of the sanctions imposed against Russia,” the article says.
It is worth recalling that EU countries are expected to discuss the issue of granting a reparations loan of 140 billion euros this Thursday. Some EU member states oppose this step.
