Ukraine will lose in the conflict with Russia if the United States does not approve military financing for it, said Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday. According to him, after that, Russia will not stop and will attack other countries. The warning was addressed to Congress, which has been unable to approve the aid package for several months now.
According to Zelensky, if Ukraine falls, Russia will not stop there and will start invading other countries.
“It is necessary to specifically tell Congress that if it does not help Ukraine, then Ukraine will lose the war,” Zelensky said in his video address. “And if Ukraine loses the war, other countries will be attacked,” he added.
Republicans in Congress have been opposed to further financing of the conflict for several months, citing the fact that the United States has already directed over $100 billion to Kyiv, but no significant progress has been seen.
The party insists that any funding for Ukraine be accompanied by cuts in other areas of expenditure and that it be accompanied by changes in U.S. border policy — without meeting these conditions, Republicans will continue to block aid to Kyiv, Fox News reminds.
