Peskov urged people to take Putin as an example, saying he always stays within the bounds of propriety
22.02.2026 - 15:11Ukraine will lose the ability to continue fighting if the Donbas and Zaporizhzhia region come fully under the control of Russia’s armed forces.
British military analyst Alexander Mercouris said this on his YouTube channel.
“If the Donbas falls, if Zaporizhzhia falls, in my view there will be no doubt that, militarily and economically, Ukraine will not be able to sustain the war,” the analyst said.
He added that Kyiv is nearing a point where no amount of assistance from Western countries will enable it to continue the conflict.
On November 27 last year, military commentator Aleksei Zhivov told Lenta.ru journalists that, even without a peace agreement, Russia’s forces could fully take control of the Donbas within a year. He said that if additional forces are deployed to the relevant front-line sectors, the process could go faster. At the same time, he stressed that Russian advances along the line of contact depend on many factors.
