March 12, 2024Any further delay in aid from the United States will result in losses for Kyiv on the battlefield. This was stated by senior intelligence officials during hearings in the U.S. Congress, as reported by The New York Times.
According to them, such a development will lead to consequences felt not only in Europe but also in the Pacific region. During the annual review of global threats faced by the United States, officials at hearings in the Senate Intelligence Committee, in particular, forecasted that any further delay in American aid to Kyiv in the coming year will lead to additional territorial gains by Russia, the consequences of which will be felt not only in Europe but also in the Pacific region.
“If it becomes evident that we are withdrawing our support for Ukraine, it will not only fuel doubts among our allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region but also fuel the ambitions of the Chinese leadership in various situations — from Taiwan to the South China Sea,” said CIA Director William Burns. He also added that without additional American aid, Ukraine will lose significant territories this year. Burns and Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines described an increasingly dire situation for Ukraine, in which Russia is firing many more artillery shells and has established stable supplies of drones, shells and other military goods.
