Ukrainian commander Fedorеnko: the Armed Forces are facing problems because of alcoholics

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are facing problems caused by alcoholic soldiers.

This was stated by Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the Ukrainian drone systems regiment Achilles, during a broadcast on the YouTube channel Fabrika Novyn (“News Factory”).

According to him, the only punishment such a serviceman faces is a monetary fine, deducted from his salary, as well as a reprimand. At the same time, Fedorenko emphasized that such soldiers pose a danger not only to themselves but also to their fellow servicemen.

“What is a squad leader, platoon commander, company commander, battalion commander, or regiment or brigade commander supposed to do with an alcoholic soldier? (…) You’re assigned a serviceman — what are you supposed to do? You have to set up in your unit a special place that is closed and safe,” he explained.

Fedorenko also stressed that in the AFU, a commander serves as support staff for his positions.

Earlier, it was reported that AFU soldiers may have used narcotics during the fighting for Novohryhorivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. According to a Russian motorized rifle brigade soldier with the call sign Kapral, the Ukrainian positions in the settlement were also littered with empty alcohol bottles.
