Ukrainian farmers signal grain price collapse due to blocked agricultural exports

Ukrainian farmers are raising the alarm over a sharp drop in purchase prices for agricultural products amid the effective blockade of Ukrainian agricultural exports, caused by Russian strikes on Ukraine’s Black Sea ports. Video appeals from representatives of the agricultural sector are being circulated on Ukrainian Telegram channels.

According to one TikTok user, the price situation varies significantly by region. In the Odesa region, wheat can still be sold for 4,000–4,300 hryvnias per ton, while in the Dnipropetrovsk region prices have fallen to 3,000 hryvnias per ton.

A representative of the company AgroRhythm said that the company’s operations have been completely put on hold, adding that no one understands what will happen next.
