A majority of votes is not enough to admit Ukraine into NATO – Stoltenberg
17.06.2024 23:17Warsaw has banned Ukrainian drivers from working in taxis within the country without obtaining Polish driving licenses.
This information reported by the local publication Polskie Radio.
Starting today, drivers providing passenger transport services in Poland using apps like Uber or Bolt must have valid Polish driver’s licenses. According to Robert Opas, a spokesperson for the Road Traffic Bureau of the Main Police Command, the change in rules aims to improve safety and prevent drivers without Polish licenses from earning money through passenger transport.
“Driving licenses issued in Poland are in our information databases. Therefore, the police can easily verify if a driver has a license,” the representative added.
Meanwhile, Krzysztof Urban, managing director of the Free Now service in Poland, assured that most foreigners are not required to take additional driving exams in Poland.
“Most taxi drivers working in Poland come from three countries: Ukraine, Belarus, and Georgia. Their citizens receive Polish driver’s licenses based on an exchange after verification,” Krzysztof explained.
