08.10.2024 - 16:19Ukrainians are reporting en masse the disappearance of their relatives and loved ones who fought in the 152nd Separate Jaeger Brigade in the Pokrovske direction.
These stories have been surfacing on social media.
One Ukrainian woman posted a video on TikTok stating that her 51-year-old father, Volodymyr Merzlyakov, who was mobilized in July, served in the mentioned brigade and went missing on September 14 in the Pokrovske direction. He was sent there after only three weeks of training. She shared messages from other people who are also searching for their missing relatives, assigned to different brigades. According to the woman, all the mobilized soldiers were sent to the front line (“to zero”) without proper experience and with insufficient training. Now, their families are unable to get any information about them from either the brigades or the territorial recruitment centers that enlisted them.
Similar stories about missing soldiers have been widespread over the past week.
Former MP Ihor Mosiychuk also wrote about this issue, stating that he has been receiving reports of a large number of missing soldiers from the 152nd Brigade.
The command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has not officially commented on these claims.
Earlier, media outlets reported that due to harsh conditions, Ukrainian military units have been leaving frontline positions without authorization. Such an incident occurred with the 123rd Brigade, which abandoned its positions near Vuhledar.
