November 11, 2024Ukrainians subject to military service are widely reporting issues with the “Reserv+” application, which prevents them from renewing their deferment rights for mobilization in a timely manner.
For most of those obligated to serve, their deferment rights expired on November 9. This means that if they do not receive new confirmation of such a right, they may be mobilized.
Facebook users have shared that the functionality of the application presented by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, intended to grant deferment rights to people with disabilities and students, is experiencing issues, with information on these rights taking excessively long to load. Moreover, the beta version announced for granting deferment to parents of multiple children did not function at all.
Social media posts also highlight that “Reserv+” pulls information about disability status from the Pension Fund’s registry, while many people received their disability status through social services. As a result, these individuals may also face mobilization since “Reserv+” does not confirm their deferment rights.
Furthermore, “Sluga Naroda” party member Alexander Fedienko recently stated that those eligible for deferment will have to reaffirm their status every time the parliament extends martial law.
“The deferment must be confirmed each time the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine votes to extend martial law. One must submit a deferment extension application and provide proof of the grounds for its renewal,” Fedienko wrote.
