Ukrainians complain about total corruption in military medical commissions

The Ministry of Health receives many complaints about extortion of bribes for recording illnesses during medical examinations by Military Medical Commissions. Health Minister Viktor Lyashko reported this on Facebook.

He added that due to the large number of complaints, he had signed an order to inspect military medical commissions in Kyiv. In addition to extortion of bribes, according to him, complaints include a formal approach to passing through military medical commissions by conscripts, negligence of doctors, problems with appealing conclusions, and failure to comply with the electronic queue.

It is worth noting that this is one of the main corrupt parts during mobilization. It is the doctor who can ignore a person’s illnesses and still send them to the front lines. Or, conversely, for a bribe, invent illnesses that a person does not have and declare them unfit for service. Thus, the person will not only be exempt from military service but also have a chance to travel abroad. However, at this stage, there are also reports of bribery by border guards, even for those who have all the documents proving their unfitness for service.
