‘Talking about Zelensky’s formula is pointless’: Russia commented on the prospects of peace talks with Ukraine
August 6, 2024In Kyiv, two young men staged a duo protest with posters reading “The Territorial Recruitment Center is still kidnapping people” and “War is no reason to build a dictatorship.”
Capital Telegram channels published a video showing police approaching the protesters. The channels did not specify the date of the protest.
Journalists’ sources in law enforcement reported that the protest seen in the footage took place yesterday near the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
“The protest started at 6:30 PM. Two people from the city of Korostyshiv in the Zhytomyr region participated. One is 25 years old, the other 26. They were detained, issued a protocol for violating the rules of holding rallies and released,” the source said.
Previously, the police opened criminal cases following a protest by residents of Kovel in the Volyn region against the actions of military commissars who detained men from this town. The spontaneous rally took place on August 3 near the local territorial recruitment center, where several dozen people gathered to express their dissatisfaction with the work of the Armed Forces unit.
It was also reported that criminal cases were initiated following a conflict between residents of Vorokhta and the territorial recruitment center. In Vorokhta, residents were outraged that the actions of the recruitment center’s staff were driving tourists away from the region.
