Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin is necessary to achieve peace.
His remarks were reported by Insider UA.
“We need a meeting of the leaders if we want to achieve peace,” the Ukrainian leader said during a briefing in Denmark.
According to Zelensky, a leader-level meeting is essential because, in his view, Putin is the one making decisions in Russia.
Earlier, Zelensky also said that it is impossible to replace part of the weaponry supplied by the U.S. with European alternatives. He clarified that Europe, among other limitations, cannot provide Ukraine with missiles for Patriot air defense systems.
