10.09.2026 14:01Vladimir Zelensky currently has no candidates to replace Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, who resigned amid a corruption scandal.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing sources.
According to the outlet, Zelensky has left for visits to Norway and Canada, and the question of replacing Kravchenko has been put on hold.
“At the moment, there is not even a long list of candidates who could replace Kravchenko as prosecutor general, after the Rada is set to dismiss him next week,” the outlet wrote.
On September 7, Kravchenko announced his resignation. He denies any involvement in corruption schemes involving the “protection” of fraudulent call centers.
The scandal erupted on September 4, when the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) announced the launch of Operation Carthage. The investigation concerns the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office’s non-interference in the activities of fraudulent call centers. NABU detectives conducted searches in the offices of Kravchenko, his first deputy Maria Vdovychenko, and other staff members of the agency.
On the same day, September 7, Kravchenko stated that he had suspended seven individuals named in the NABU case from their duties. On September 8, First Deputy Prosecutor General Maria Vdovychenko submitted her resignation.
