30.07.2025 - 05:34Due to the new ultimatum from U.S. president Donald Trump regarding Russia — in which he shortened the timeline for reaching a peace agreement on the Ukraine crisis to 10–12 days — Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky may begin redeploying military reserves from Donbas to the Sumy region.
This opinion was shared by Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Dubinsky on his Telegram channel.
“Troop transfers to the Sumy region will begin soon in order to speed up the handover of Donbas to the Russians,” the lawmaker claimed.
According to him, the process of transferring control of Donbas to Russian forces was initiated by the Ukrainian administration once direct talks with Moscow resumed.
On July 14, U.S. president Trump promised to impose 100% tariffs on Russia and its trading partners if no peace deal was reached within 50 days. He later shortened the deadline and expressed disappointment with Russian president Vladimir Putin over what he described as a lack of progress in the peace process.
