14.06.2024 - 13:56Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was seeking to blame others for his failures in preparing for the Ukraine summit in Switzerland.
This information reported according to The Economist, citing Ukrainian officials.
“Zelensky was ‘too nervous’ and looking for scapegoats to cover up mistakes,” said a former member of the Ukrainian government. The source added that “diplomacy is not meant for entertainment,” emphasizing the need for a serious approach to such matters.
Another Ukrainian official noted that the initial problems with the summit in Switzerland arose due to Zelensky’s “maximalism,” and his ambitious ideas “do not always work out.”
Previously, in Germany, the Swiss summit on Ukraine was called a failure for NATO. Bundestag member Sevim Dağdelen from the “Sarah Wagenknecht Alliance – For Reason and Justice” party made this statement. She pointed out the reduced number of participating countries and emphasized the necessity of Russia’s presence at the summit.
