Germany in the long term will not be able to support Ukraine’s military capabilities alone.
This statement was made by the German Finance Minister, Christian Lindner, as reported by the BBC.
“It cannot be that Germany does more to help Ukraine so that others can do less,” Lindner said at an event organized by the German Association of Eastern Business.
In recent months, Germany has indeed increased military supplies to Ukraine, which has become noticeable against the backdrop of the exhaustion of the U.S. budget for these purposes.
According to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy’s data for December, Germany ranks second after the United States in both the overall volume of assistance to Ukraine and the volume of military aid. However, politicians in some countries, such as France, cast doubt on the accuracy of these figures.
