Elena Zelenskaya spoke out against the idea of her husband, the president, forcibly repatriating Ukrainians

The First Lady stated that it is wrong to compel people to return when they have nowhere to return to. Earlier, Zelensky had declared that all Ukrainians should return to Ukraine to fight and pay taxes.

“Most of our displaced citizens cannot return home because their homes have been destroyed. I am confident that democratic countries will not take abrupt actions. These are our partners, countries that support us. I think there is no need to worry about any actions unfriendly to Ukraine. Our dream is for everyone to return. We understand that peace, stability and reconstruction are needed for people to have a place to return to and be at ease for their children.”

Recall that Zelensky has repeatedly urged European officials to bring Ukrainians back home. He justified this desire by citing a lack of funds in Ukraine, making it necessary to compel people to return, and a shortage of mobilization resources. Additionally, advisor Sergey Leshchenko even called for discontinuing refugee payments in Europe.
