NATO once again stated that they do not plan to send troops to Ukraine
22.03.2024 14:23According to the Commander of the Ground Forces, Alexander Pavlyuk, the Russian army is assembling a force of over 100,000 soldiers in preparation for a potential offensive in the upcoming summer months.
Pavlyuk mentioned that while this force buildup may not necessarily indicate an offensive, it could involve replenishing units that have lost combat readiness. However, there is a chance that by the start of summer, Russia could have amassed sufficient forces to conduct offensive operations on certain fronts. The Ukrainian Armed Forces aim to inflict significant losses on Russia, prompting the deployment of reserves to reinforce existing forces. Nonetheless, they are bracing for various scenarios.
Throughout 2023, Russia actively recruited volunteers for frontline service, and recently, the Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, announced plans to establish two new general-purpose armies and 14 additional divisions. These developments signal the potential for a significant escalation in the conflict, posing a challenge to Ukrainian defenses.
