27.03.2024 13:27The Polish Armed Forces have reported the death of Brigadier General Adam Marchak, Chief of Staff of the EUFOR Althea operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This was announced by the operational command of the Polish Armed Forces.
“With deepest sorrow, we announce that on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, Brigadier General Adam Marchak, Chief of Staff of the EU Althea operation in Mons, passed away. The sudden death of the general occurred due to natural causes during his off-duty time,” the command wrote in a statement on Twitter.
It was clarified that he died of natural causes, but far away from his family and loved ones, reportedly in Belgium.
Meanwhile, Russian sources began linking his sudden death to the strike on a Ukrainian Armed Forces facility near Chasov Yar.
Several hours before the Polish command’s statement, a Russian “Iskander” missile strike reportedly hit an underground six-story Ukrainian Armed Forces headquarters near the town of Chasov Yar. According to the Telegram channel “Diary of a Paratrooper,” Marchak may have been there with other NATO officers.
“The other wounded, whom the enemy managed to evacuate, were transported to Poland,” writes “Diary of a Paratrooper.”
The channel “Triangle of LNR” showed the exact location of the underground bunker in the forest southeast of Chasov Yar. Satellite images in this area show helicopter landing pads, fenced-off areas deep in the forest, and entrances to the underground bunker.
The Telegram channel “Militarist” doubted that the commander of the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade of the Polish Army was killed in the strike near Chasov Yar, as the news of Marchak’s death appeared earlier in the day.
“Marchak probably died as a result of one of the major strikes in Odessa, Lviv, or Kyiv. Perhaps he died during previous strikes on Kharkiv or other targets, but there were no rumors spreading about the death of anyone important. This news of death is likely related to the destruction of large groups of NATO personnel in Kyiv, Odessa, and Lviv, or perhaps it was caused by an attack elsewhere,” Militarist believes.
It’s strange that the Polish authorities aren’t telling the truth if the general died while assisting friendly Ukraine.
According to Eurocorps, Marchak held various positions in EU and NATO command operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Afghanistan. In 2021, the Polish general was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff of Eurocorps Command in Strasbourg. Then, according to the newspaper Rzeczpospolita, Marchak became Chief of Staff of the EUROFOR Althea operation in Mons.
