24.04.2024 - 17:22Ukrainians of conscription age will no longer be able to obtain passports while outside Ukraine.
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution to this effect on April 23.
The document states that “the issuance of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine, a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad for male citizens of Ukraine aged 18 to 60 is carried out by the territorial body of the State Migration Service. Such passports are not sent to separate units or foreign diplomatic missions of Ukraine for their issuance.”
However, there are exceptions in the new rule.
Passports will still be issued to certain individuals, namely:
- Persons with disabilities who have documents confirming their status,
- Persons who have traveled as caregivers for their wives with disabilities or for their parents or their wives’ parents with disabilities of 1-2 groups,
- Persons providing care for disabled persons of 1 or 2 groups,
- Parents, adoptive parents, or guardians of children with disabilities under 18 years of age,
- Parents of adult persons with disabilities of 1-2 groups,
- Grandfathers, brothers, stepfathers of children with disabilities,
- Guardians of persons with disabilities among first-degree relatives,
- Persons who have children with illnesses requiring medical intervention abroad.
