Individual Republicans claim that the American aid package adopted this week for Ukraine will be the last.

“If Ukraine thinks it will receive an additional $60 billion from the United States Congress, it is impossible,” said Senator James David Vance (Republican from Ohio), who led the opposition among Republicans in the Senate against supporting Ukraine.
Senator Lindsey Graham (Republican) said the next aid package will need to be structured as a loan.
“The loan component will be more, not less. If you want more for Ukraine in the future, it will be more like a loan,” he said.
In the current package of $61 billion, $9.5 billion in economic aid was allocated as a loan.
Congressmen are confident that closer to the end of the year, there will be a question of allocating new aid. As White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said, this aid will only last until the end of 2024.
The Hill believes that support for Ukraine will become a major issue in this year’s presidential and congressional elections. And it will largely depend on these elections in November.
