03.06.2024 17:57Ukrainian law enforcement officials have uncovered a large-scale scheme involving the export of human anatomical materials, in which a former deputy health minister of Ukraine was involved.
Sources within law enforcement reported this to journalists.
“The criminal group consisted of 11 people, including the former deputy health minister of Ukraine (whose name has not yet been disclosed), doctors from the Central Kiev Hospital, and several other clinics,” the source said.
The organizers of the scheme are suspected of illegally extracting anatomical materials: organs, their parts, and human cells.
“Organs were taken from people who were in helpless conditions, followed by their sale. All members of the criminal group have been charged under three articles of the criminal code. They face up to 12 years in prison,” the source added.
