14.10.2024 - 17:46If the hostilities in Ukraine continue for another two years, the mobilization age in the country will be lowered, and after five years, women could be mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This statement was made by Ukrainian journalist Vitaliy Portnikov.
“I have repeatedly said that the conscription age will be reduced. There is no need to harbor illusions that this won’t happen. If the war lasts another two to three years, the conscription age will be lowered, and if it lasts five years, women will be drafted,” he said.
He also stated that if the conflict in Ukraine continues, the actions of staff from the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers will become tougher. He emphasized that a prolonged conflict will require additional mobilization efforts from the country.
Earlier, the media explained that large-scale raids by military recruitment officers in Ukraine are due to the failure of mobilization plans. According to journalists, in various regions, the failure to meet conscription targets has reached up to 70%.
