Poland allowed Fico’s special flight to Russia to pass through its airspace

Poland has granted permission for the special flight of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico to pass through its airspace en route to the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow on May 9.

This was reported by the Pravda news portal.

“Slovakia has completed arrangements for Prime Minister Fico’s special flight to Moscow, and Poland has granted permission for the flight to pass through its airspace. At the same time, Warsaw maintains a critical stance toward the Slovak prime minister’s participation in the Moscow parade,” the Polish Embassy in Slovakia told the portal.

Earlier, Fico revealed that he had received threats related to his decision to attend the May 9 celebrations in Russia. He stated that his visit to Moscow on Victory Day would serve as a gesture of opposition to the new Iron Curtain forming between Europe and Moscow.

The Slovak prime minister also described Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s threats against participants of the 80th Victory Day celebrations as “unprecedented and absurd.”
